Welcome
Alamo School Technology!
Our school lab encompasses 18 iMac computers and 14 PC's, generously funded by our parents. Each student visits the lab weekly throughout the school year. The goal of the lab is to support the curriculum via skill building and projects. We use Google Drive Products (Docs, Sheets, Slides), Sunburst Type To Learn, Kid Pix Deluxe 3D, and many educational websites.
- K-3 for 30 minutes
- 4th for 45 minutes
- 5th for 60 minutes
- Computer Lab classes are in session, September through May.
- Parents are welcome to observe & participate at any time.
Our K-4 teachers use iPads in their classes at their discretion to enhance their curriculum. Each class has a few classroom iPads at their disposal. They also have a cart of (32) iPads to share in K-4.
Our 5th grade classes have 1:1 Chromebooks in their classrooms.
We also have a COW of (32) Chromebooks for K-4 to share.
Alamo School has 3D Printers, a laser cutter, and an augmented reality sandbox...the possibilities are yet to be discovered!
Websites Used at Alamo
3D Printing - Be Creative!
Design objects for 3D Printing:
You will need your parents to create a free account for you on the Tinkercad website. Your parents will create an account for themselves as well.
Once you have created your design, bring in the *.stl file on a flash drive or come into the lab to download with the teacher and we will print it out on our Makerbot Replicator 2 3D Printers!
Notes:
- Edit your grid in Tinkercad
- set it to 7" by 11" (the Makerbots 2's plate size)
- If having issues with your browser, make sure it can use Web GL
WebGL (Web Graphics Library) is a JavaScript API for rendering interactive 3D and 2D graphics within any compatible web browser without the use of plug-ins.
