Welcome

Welcome to Alamo School Technology!

Our school lab encompasses 18 iMac computers and 14 PC's, generously funded by our parents.  Each student visits the lab weekly throughout the school year.  The goal of the lab is to support the curriculum via skill building and projects.  We use Google Drive Products (Docs, Sheets, Slides), Sunburst Type To Learn, Kid Pix Deluxe 3D, and many educational websites.

  • K-3 for 30 minutes
  • 4th  for 45 minutes
  • 5th for 60 minutes
  • Computer Lab classes are in session, August through May.
  • Parents are welcome to observe & participate at any time.

Our K-4 teachers use iPads in their classes at their discretion to enhance their curriculum.  In addition, each class has three to four iPads at their disposal.

Our 5th grade classes have 1:1 iPads in their classrooms and share a group of 32 MacBook laptops.

Alamo School has 3D Printers and a laser cutter...the possibilities are yet to be discovered!

3D Printing - Be Creative!

Design objects for 3D Printing:

Tinker CAD

Tinkercad

You will need your parents to create a free account for you on the Tinkercad website.  Your parents will create an account for themselves as well.

Once you have created your design, bring in the *.stl file on a flash drive or come into the lab to download with the teacher and we will print it out on our Makerbot Replicator 2 3D Printers!

Tinker CAD

Notes:

  • Edit your grid in Tinkercad and set it to 7" by 11" (the Makerbots R 2's plate size)
  • If having issues with your browser, make sure it can use Web GL

WebGL (Web Graphics Library) is a JavaScript API for rendering interactive 3D and 2D graphics within any compatible web browser without the use of plug-ins.
